Vlissingen, The Netherlands

On Saturday, September 15, 2018, the World Peace Flame was ignited at the Bellamypark in Vlissingen.

This particular monument is unique as it’s powered by the waste gas of an oil refinery.

The first step towards a monument in Vlissingen was taken by members of the ‘Peace Week’ working group, namely Alex Soplantila, Jules Botse, Ad Ludikhuize, Bert den Heijer, Käthe Boshuis, Hans Schaap and Carl Betram.
