Annual Interfaith Peace Service

On 13 November 2025, the Annual Interfaith Peace Service was held at the Civic Hall in Leeds, bringing together representatives from across the city’s diverse faith communities.

For over 20 years, the World Peace Flame has formed a central part of this service, continuing its tradition as a shared symbol of unity and peace. During the ceremony, representatives of different faiths came together to light candles from the Flame – demonstrating a collective commitment to harmony and understanding.

A particularly meaningful moment saw the Leeds Children’s Mayor and the Lady Mayoress light candles on behalf of all the children and people of Leeds, reflecting hope for both present and future generations.

This long-standing event continues to highlight the strength of community, the value of inclusion, and the shared aspiration for peace across all cultures and beliefs.
